BINARY BEACH / THE STUDIOBRAND & DESIGN SYSTEMS

BRAND & DESIGN SYSTEMS

Be recognisable.
Be yourself.

Identity with a point of view. Design systems with a purpose. We connect the character of the business to the interfaces, campaigns and everyday details people encounter.

THE CHARACTER

A brand begins before the logo.

Who are you for? What should people feel? What makes the business different? We shape a direction that answers those questions before choosing a colour.

THE CAPABILITIES / BRAND & DESIGN SYSTEMS

A bigger picture.
The useful details.

You are starting something new, repositioning an established business, or trying to bring inconsistent touchpoints together.

01CAPABILITY / IDENTITY

Identity

A name with a face

Wordmark, palette, type and the tone that holds them together. Delivered with the working files and the reasoning, so the next person can carry it without guessing.

  • Naming and wordmark
  • Palette tested for contrast, not just taste
  • Full asset kit, source files included
Inside the approach

FROM IDEA TO RELEASE

01Find a direction worth owning

Connect audience, positioning and character to creative territories. Judge the identity in its real applications rather than on a single presentation slide.

02Deliver an identity that travels

Prepare the agreed wordmark, palette, typography and asset formats. Document the rules and rationale so new touchpoints can stay consistent.

LET’S TALK ABOUT IDENTITY
02CAPABILITY / DESIGN SYSTEMS

Design systems

Consistency you do not have to police

Tokens and components shipped as a real dependency with live documentation. The right thing becomes the easy thing, which is the only enforcement that ever works.

  • Design tokens shared by Figma and code
  • Documented component library
  • Accessibility built into the primitives
Inside the approach

FROM IDEA TO RELEASE

01Start from the real interface

Audit existing patterns, identify shared primitives and decide where consistency helps. Agree the relationship between design files and production components.

02Make the system maintainable

Define tokens, states, accessibility requirements and contribution guidance. A system needs a clear owner and a process for change.

03CAPABILITY / ART DIRECTION

Art direction

Looking like yourself in a crowd

Photography, illustration and layout direction for campaigns — the rules that make ten different assets from four different people still look like one company.

  • Shoot direction and image treatment
  • Campaign layout systems
  • Templates your team can run without us
Inside the approach

FROM IDEA TO RELEASE

01Create a recognisable language

Define composition, image treatment, typography and the relationship between assets. Test the direction across the campaigns and formats you actually need.

02Give the team useful tools

Scope templates, example applications and production guidance. Agree which photography, illustration and asset creation belongs in the project.

LET’S TALK ABOUT ART DIRECTION
04CAPABILITY / MOTION

Motion

Movement with a reason

Transitions, loading states and brand animation, specified as timings and easings a developer can implement rather than a video they have to eyeball.

  • Motion tokens: duration, easing, distance
  • Reduced-motion behaviour defined, not skipped
  • Handed over as code, not just renders
Inside the approach

FROM IDEA TO RELEASE

01Give every movement a purpose

Use motion to explain hierarchy, feedback and transitions. Define duration, distance and easing alongside the static design.

02Design the alternative

Specify reduced-motion behaviour and keyboard interactions. Hand over implementable guidance and code where included in the scope.

LET’S TALK ABOUT MOTION

THE APPROACH / FROM IDEA TO REALITY

Visible progress.
Clear decisions.

  1. 01

    Understand the character

Review the audience, offer, existing touchpoints and the change you want to make. Decide whether refinement or a new identity serves the brief.

  2. 02

    Explore the direction

Develop creative territories with a clear rationale. Test the direction against the actual channels and uses the business needs.

  3. 03

    Make a working system

Develop the identity, typography, colour, component and motion principles. Check contrast and accessible alternatives as part of the design.

  4. 04

Put it in your team’s hands

Deliver the agreed formats, editable source files and guidance. Walk through the everyday applications so the system is ready to use.

THE HANDOVER / BUILT TO KEEP MOVING

In your hands.
Ready for what’s next.

  • 01

    Positioning and creative direction

  • 02

    Identity, colour and typography system

  • 03

    Digital and print-ready assets

  • 04

    Interface tokens and component guidance

  • 05

    Motion principles and accessible alternatives

  • 06

Practical guidelines and editable source files

Deliverables, responsibilities, ownership and third-party costs are agreed in the proposal. The scope follows the project.

BEFORE WE BEGIN

The details.
Without the mystery.

01

Do we need to replace our existing identity?

Not necessarily. We can review what already works and decide whether refinement, a wider system or a new direction best serves the brief.

02

Can the identity carry into an app or website?

Yes. The brand and product interface are designed together, so colour, type, components and motion have a clear relationship across the experience.

03

What will our team receive?

The agreed asset formats, source files and guidance for everyday use. We scope the touchpoints you need rather than delivering a generic folder of unused templates.

04

Do you also design motion and campaigns?

Yes. Motion principles, campaign direction and templates can sit alongside the identity. We scope the applications you need so the visual system reaches the actual touchpoints.

05

Will we own the source files?

The agreed source files and deliverables are listed in the contract. Fonts, photography and other licensed assets may have separate terms and costs, which we make visible.

06

How do you handle feedback?

We agree review milestones and the decision maker before starting. Feedback is assessed against the brief and creative rationale so the direction stays coherent.
