START A CONVERSATION

Your next chapter.
Starts here.

An ambitious idea, a difficult brief or a product ready for its next version. Tell us what you are trying to build. We will help find a clear way forward.

THE OPPORTUNITY

A perfect brief is optional.

Tell us who the work is for, what needs to change and why now. A conversation can turn an early idea into a useful set of questions.

THE CAPABILITIES / START A CONVERSATION

A bigger picture.
The useful details.

You have an opportunity to explore, a project to rescue, or a brief that needs a second pair of eyes.

01CAPABILITY / SCOPING

Scoping

Knowing what you are buying

A structured session that turns "we need an app" into a written scope with phases, risks and the decisions still outstanding. Useful even if you never hire us.

  • Half-day workshop, remote or in person
  • Written scope with phases and risks
  • Yours to take to any studio
Inside the approach

FROM IDEA TO RELEASE

01Turn the idea into decisions

Map the goal, audience, first useful release, dependencies and open questions. A scope should explain the boundaries as clearly as the deliverables.

02Keep the options visible

Compare possible phases and approaches. Document the assumptions that change cost or timing so the next conversation has a solid starting point.

LET’S TALK ABOUT SCOPING
02CAPABILITY / ESTIMATES

Estimates

A number with reasoning attached

Ranges, not false precision, with the assumptions listed so you can see which ones move the price. If an assumption turns out wrong, you know before the invoice.

  • Ranges with stated confidence
  • Assumptions listed line by line
  • Change requests priced against the original
Inside the approach

FROM IDEA TO RELEASE

01Show the reasoning

Link effort and cost to deliverables, complexity and dependencies. Use ranges when the information does not justify a precise number.

02Agree how change works

Record assumptions, exclusions and approval responsibilities. Define how additions are assessed before the work is undertaken.

LET’S TALK ABOUT ESTIMATES
03CAPABILITY / RETAINERS

Retainers

Ongoing, without the lock-in

A block of hours each month for the work that never finishes. Thirty days notice, unused hours explained rather than quietly absorbed.

  • Thirty days notice, no minimum term
  • Monthly report of where hours went
  • Roll-over or refund on unused time
Inside the approach

FROM IDEA TO RELEASE

01Define the ongoing work

Agree capacity, priorities, reporting and the types of requests the arrangement covers. Support, improvements and new features may need different expectations.

02Make the arrangement understandable

Document response expectations, review points, notice terms and treatment of unused capacity in the agreement.

LET’S TALK ABOUT RETAINERS
04CAPABILITY / SECOND OPINIONS

Second opinions

An outside read

A review of a codebase, a plan or a proposal from someone with no stake in winning the work. Sometimes the answer is that your current team is doing fine.

  • Codebase or architecture review
  • Proposal and quote sanity check
  • We do not pitch on what we review
Inside the approach

FROM IDEA TO RELEASE

01Review the evidence

Agree whether the review concerns code, architecture, a proposal or delivery progress. Access and review depth are defined before starting.

02Leave a practical readout

Explain the findings, uncertainty, risks and next steps. A useful review helps make a decision rather than merely producing a list of faults.

LET’S TALK ABOUT SECOND OPINIONS

THE APPROACH / FROM IDEA TO REALITY

Visible progress.
Clear decisions.

  1. 01

    Send the first signal

Share the goal, the people it affects, an approximate budget and any deadline. Links to what exists today are useful.

  2. 02

    Talk through the problem

We review the brief and discuss the priorities, constraints and open questions. You do not need to arrive with a finished specification.

  3. 03

    Agree the shape

A proposal sets out scope, responsibilities, assumptions and cost. A discovery phase can help when the product is still taking shape.

  4. 04

    Choose the next step

Decide whether the fit and approach are right. If the work needs a different specialist, we will say so.

THE HANDOVER / BUILT TO KEEP MOVING

In your hands.
Ready for what’s next.

  • 01

A conversation about goals and constraints

  • 02

The questions that need answering first

  • 03

    A proposed scope and approach

  • 04

    Assumptions, dependencies and responsibilities

  • 05

    A clear next step

Deliverables, responsibilities, ownership and third-party costs are agreed in the proposal. The scope follows the project.

BEFORE WE BEGIN

The details.
Without the mystery.

01

How much detail should the first brief contain?

Tell us the problem, who it affects, what success would look like, and any budget or deadline. A perfect specification is not required.

02

Can you start with discovery?

Yes. A smaller discovery phase can help define the product, explore feasibility and prioritise the first release before a larger build is agreed.

03

What should I include in the first message?

The problem, the audience, what success would look like and any budget or deadline. Relevant links are welcome. Please avoid sending passwords or sensitive personal information.

04

Can you help with an existing product?

Yes. We can discuss improvements, a new release or a scoped review. Access, dependencies and the role of the current team need to be understood before work begins.

05

What if the project is not a fit?

We will say so. The first conversation should help you understand the next step, even when the work needs a different specialist.

THE NEXT CHAPTER / YOURS

Let’s make
something matter.

Tell us what needs to change, who it is for and what you have in mind. A rough idea is a good place to start.

START A BUILD

Tell us what you are trying to ship.

Share a little about the project. We will review your brief and get back to you to discuss scope, timing and cost.
